Any student from around Year 3 through VCE — the practice works across that whole span. It suits families who want writing genuinely built, not a single SAC crammed the week before. If your child needs the craft rebuilt from habit and judgement up rather than a quick patch, this is the place for it.

No. The practice works at the level of habit, judgement and voice, not a fixed framework. Every student arrives with their own text-types, habits and hold-ups; the work is built around theirs, not a uniform sequence or a worksheet pack.

I am the only tutor. Your child is taught, every single week, by the same person — never handed to a rotating cast of casual tutors, and never worked through a franchised script. One reader holds the whole year, learns how your child thinks, and teaches to a standard I can show you on the page.

Marks follow from rebuilt habits, not the other way round — so I don't sell a guaranteed number by a certain date. What you can expect is visible change in the writing itself within a few weeks, and marks moving over a term or two as the new habits hold. I'd rather be honest about that than promise a figure I can't control.

Online by default, over Google Meet — which means families anywhere in Australia can enrol, with lesson times arranged around your state's clock. In-person lessons are also available occasionally, by special request, for families in Melbourne's inner suburbs. These run to a two-hour minimum and are arranged case by case; ask on the discovery call and we can talk through whether it suits your child and what it would cost.

Yes. Lessons are online by default, so where you are makes no difference — students in any Australian state are welcome, and times are set to suit your time zone. The one thing distance rules out is the occasional in-person lesson, which is limited to Melbourne's inner suburbs; everything else about the teaching is identical.

For an online lesson: a laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, and a quiet place to work. Everything else — the writing, the shared documents, the lesson link — is handled through the portal and Google Meet. For an in-person lesson, just a quiet table and their own writing; I bring the rest.

Weekly, one hour, at a fixed time that's yours. Most of the work compounds week to week, so a regular slot matters more than the occasional long session.

Work between lessons is encouraged but never compulsory. School comes first. When a student does submit writing through the portal, it's read closely and shapes the lesson that follows — but the hour itself is the heart of the work.

No. Every lesson is one-to-one. Siblings are welcome as separate students at separate times, but the hour belongs to one writer — the work is built around a single student's writing, and it stops being that the moment it is split.

The discovery call and the trial lesson are free. Weekly lessons are $120 for the hour. Billed weekly by direct debit — and only once the work is underway and you've chosen to continue.

Let me know at least 24 hours ahead and we'll reschedule to another time that week wherever I can — the aim is always to move the lesson, not lose it. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged, since the slot was held for your child and can't be filled at that notice.

Any time. The weekly direct debit is yours to pause, adjust, or stop whenever you choose — no notice period, no exit fee, no obligation to continue a term you don't want.

By default, yes — holidays are valuable, unhurried time to get ahead. But it's entirely your call: continue, lighten, or pause over the break. If you pause, the billing pauses with it.

Yes, genuinely. This is a solo practice, so the number of students I can hold properly is finite. When it's full, it's full — and I'd rather keep a waitlist than teach more students than I can do justice to.

I will — every lesson, personally. There are no other tutors, no subcontractors, no handovers. I hold a current Working with Children Check, a bachelor's degree, and I'm completing a master's; but the truest measure of the standard I teach to is the writing on the site, written in my own hand.

Not directly. I work from the school reports, marks and feedback you share, which inform the diagnostic and the plan — but I don't contact teachers myself. I do warmly encourage you to submit any teacher feedback through the portal, so I can understand your school's specific priorities and how writing is being taught in that classroom.

Through the portal. Every session is logged with a full record, a written summary, any work set, and the next steps — alongside marks tracked across the year. The whole trajectory stays legible to you, without you needing to sit in on the lesson.
