The Scholarship & Entrance English Assessment Guide

School entrance and scholarship English assessments test a narrow, learnable set of question types — not a student's overall ability, and not luck. This guide breaks down each type on its own terms: how frequently it appears, the technique that reliably answers it, and a worked example showing the reasoning in full.

It’s organised the way the assessments are: a Verbal Reasoning section (vocabulary, logic and language questions) and a Reading Comprehension section (understanding and interpreting written passages). Read a chapter before a specific weak spot shows up in practice, or after — either way, each one stands alone.
